Juvenile arrested in connection to death of New Hampshire man

ANTRIM, N.H. — Police in New Hampshire said a juvenile has been arrested in connection to the death of a man in Antrim.

The death was ruled as suspicious on Friday morning after the man's body was found inside a home that caught fire.

Local and State Police spent the whole day surrounding the home on Gregg Lake Road, collecting evidence and investigating.

"I could not go to sleep because I didn't know what was going on," said Meegan Collier, a neighbor.

According to the Attorney General's office, the man who died was identified as 41-year-old Jason Beam, and was found deceased in his home at around 3 a.m.

Neighbors were shocked to learn what happened, saying the town is small, quiet and safe.

"Basically that was the talk, basically the entire day, "said Collier. "Everybody's like 'Oh, what's going on? Oh my god, that happened right by your house.' Everybody's got theories and I'm just like let everything play out and we'll see what's going on."

Boston 25 News did reach out to one of Beam's family members, but they declined an interview, saying they are all still in a state of shock.

The family did, however, say Beam was a father and a happy and positive person.

"It's not the kind of thing that happens around here and nobody would have expected that," said Collier.
