Special needs teacher hopes to surprise student with dream trip to Massachusetts

LOS ANGELES — We get to live here, but for a child with autism, it is his dream to visit the Bay State.

A teacher of a special needs third grader in California is hoping she can surprise her student with the trip of a lifetime, KABC reports.

Eight-year-old Kingston Jones loves Thomas the Tank Engine, dreams of visiting Thomas Land. Teacher Ani Baker says, "he's been talking about how eager he is to go to Thomas Land, while smiling so big I think his cheeks are going to split."

But what Kingston doesn't know is that Thomas Land is in Carver, Mass - 3,000 miles from home.

Kingston's teacher says there is no child more deserving of the chance to visit Thomas Land in person, which is why she created a Gofundme page to give him a birthday gift he will never forget.

Donations are pouring in. So far, the page has raised nearly $7,000 to help pay for Kingston's birthday trip to Thomas Land.
