BROCKTON, Mass. — Several people were rescued from the top floor of a 2-story house in Brockton as a fire broke out early Friday morning.

The Brockton Fire Department said it had rescued people from a third-floor porch with a ladder. Pets were rescued too. Brewster EMS gave oxygen to one lucky feline who managed to get out.

The 2-alarm fire on Kenwood Street appeared to be under control around 6:20 a.m., less than an hour after the call came in.
