Father of 2 killed in Sutton motorcycle crash

SUTTON, Mass. -- Boston 25 News has learned the man killed in a motorcycle crash Monday evening on Route 146 in Sutton was a father of two.

Joe Gillespie was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester, where he died. State police said he is 29-years-old and from Whitinsville.

Traffic advisory: Rt 146 Southbound near Purgatory Road There was a motorcycle accident on Rt 146 Southbound and the road is currently down to a single lane in that direction. Please use caution in the area.

"He lived for his little girl Gia and his son Joey," Gillespie's friend, BJ Clark, told Boston 25 News.

Gillespie looked forward to his July 4th trips to Saco, Maine. He’d spend the weekend camping with a huge group of friends.

"The guy was pure gold. He lived life like it was his last day," Clark said.

The state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction section is investigating. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Friends have created a GoFundMe account to help support his family.
