Driver in fatal East Bridgewater crash that killed 4 indicted by grand jury

An 18-year-old has been indicted by a Plymouth County grand jury on charges stemming from a crash that killed four passengers in East Bridgewater.

Naiquan Hamilton, 18, of Stoughton, was indicted  as a youthful offender for driving recklessly and under the influence of marijuana in the May 19 crash that killed four teens: Christopher Desir, 17, of Brockton, Eryck Sablah, 17, Nicholas Joyce, 16, and David Bell, 17, all of Stoughton, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced Saturday.

Hamilton, who was the driver of the vehicle, was indicted on four counts of manslaughter by motor vehicle; four counts of motor vehicle homicide by operating under the influence; and four counts of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, the DA's office said. Hamilton will be arraigned at a future date on the charges at Brockton Juvenile Court.

Hamilton, who was 17 years old at the time of the crash, was seriously injured when the car he was driving went out of control on Route 106 in East Bridgewater and slammed into a tree.
