Target Deal Days is October 13 and 14, the company says in a news release. The retailer promises 1 million more deals than last year.

Walmart

The world's largest brick-and-mortar retailer recently introduced Walmart+ and has gone on a hiring spree to get ready for the holidays. For Prime Day it launched its "Big Save" event, which started on Sunday, October 11 at 7 p.m. (EDT) and runs through Thursday, October 15.

Walmart says the Big Save sale will include Black Friday-like deals as well as free two-day shipping on eligible orders of more than $35.

Best Buy

Best Buy is kicking off Black Friday early with hot deals on October 13 and 14. Many of the sales will come from the store's Black Friday ad, which has yet to be released.

"The rest of Best Buy's Black Friday ad, and more opportunities to score Black Friday deals, will come later this month," the retailer says in a news release.

How To Save Money on Prime Day

Although many items will be discounted, take it upon yourself to search for lower prices. To save money on Prime Day you'll want to make sure you do the following:

Comparison shop by going to different websites.
If you're buying somewhere other than Amazon, make sure you include the shipping costs in your total when you compare prices.
Use cash back credit cards so you can get rewarded for shopping.

In addition to comparison shopping, money expert Clark Howard says you don’t want to exhaust yourself shopping on Prime Day. Throughout the holiday season, the deals will keep on coming.

"There will still be some of the best deals happening on Thanksgiving Day and maybe Black Friday," he says. "It's going to be a continuous series of sales, starting around Halloween."
