CLOSE CALL: Wooden block crashes through car's windshield on I-93

WILMINGTON, Mass. — A driver is lucky to be alive after a wooden block flew through their windshield on Wednesday morning.

Wilmington Police tweeted out a photo of the windshield showing the wooden block, which likely fell from another vehicle, crashed right through the driver's side of the car.

The operator of this vehicle is a very lucky after having a chalk block come through his windshield on I-93 in #WilmingtonMA this morning! The incident, which happened on I-93 in Wilmington, only resulted in minor injuries for the driver, who was taken to an area hospital.

In the tweet, police took the opportunity to remind drivers to secure all items that could fall off their vehicles.
