HYANNIS, Mass. — A 7-year-old boy suffered burns after reportedly falling into a fire pit on the beach at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa in Hyannis, the Hyannis Fire Department says.
Firefighters responded to a call for a burn injury from a fire pit at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday night.
The child's burns were serious enough that they were rushed by ambulance to a Boston hospital.
Barnstable Police confirmed the child sustained second and third degree burns.
The Cape Codder Resort holds a weekend fire pit in the beach, where children are allowed to cook marshmallows.
