Man accused of stabbing Worcester woman in restaurant held without bail

WORCESTER, Mass. — The man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death inside a crowded Worcester restaurant pleaded not guilty to murder charges Monday.

Carlos Asencio was arraigned in Worcester Superior Court for the murder of Amanda Dabrowski.

That follows a six month mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital, where he will continue to be evaluated, and will be held without bail.

As 25 Investigates first reported, authorities believe Asencio may have been tracking Dabrowski with a cell phone found taped to the bottom of her car.

After the arraignment, the family of Amanda Dabrowski told Boston 25 News they are disappointed by the not guilty plea but will continue to fight for justice for their daughter.
