The Detroit Lions have announced they have hired New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as the team's new head coach.
Patricia has been with the Patriots for the past 14 season, where he helped lead the team to three Super Bowl Championships, six AFC Championships and 13 AFC East Division Championships.

“When we launched the search for our next head coach, I wanted to find a leader that could take us to the next level and I am confident we have found that in Matt Patricia. He has been preparing for this opportunity his entire career, and he’s ready for the responsibility and its challenges," said Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Quinn.
Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is also expected to take a head coaching job with the Indianapolis Colts. That has not yet been officially announced.
