The accident happened in front of the little girl's grandmother home on Fargo Road.
A family member told Boston 25 News reporter Elysia Rodriguez that the little girl named Savannah Curran was playing when she was hit by the utility vehicle that was doing work on the street.
"It's not something you'd expect to happen on a quiet, dead end street like this, obviously they felt very safe," said Joseph Curran, a family member.
Both the driver of the truck and the girl's grandmother were also taken to the hospital as a precaution - both were overwhelmed with emotion.
The driver has not been charged.
