Missing person: Eastham Fire and Police searching for 47-year-old man

Eastham Fire and Police are searching for a missing person in the area of Hay Road and Country Way.

The person, a 47-year-old man, is said to be 5-foot-9, weighing 150 pounds and wearing a dark t-shirt with beige or green shorts.

Authorities said the man had left his house about 24 hours before they received a missing person report.

The search for the person was suspended late Friday night, and was resumed Saturday morning.

The Eastham Police Department along with the Eastham Fire Department, Barnstable County Technical Rescue Team, Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Truro Police Department K9 Unit thoroughly searched the area but were unable to find the man.

Throughout the search, multiple people claimed to have seen the man, but none of the possible sightings were confirmed.

The search was suspended Friday night at around 9:30 p.m. due to lack of visibility and exhaustion.

On Saturday morning, search efforts were picked up where they left off the night before, but after completing all the follow-up searches and generating no leads, the search was suspended once again.

Eastham Police are actively searching and investigating this missing person case.
