WORCESTER, Mass. — The search for Karen Solomon has now entered its sixth day, as authorities continue looking for the woman wanted on a warrant for assault and battery in connection with the death of her police officer husband.

Worcester police told Boston 25 that the search at Coes Pond has been slow due to poor visibility, which was reported to be just two inches.
“This pond is pretty murky and has not had much visibility from the start,” police said.
“We’ve seen manhunts go on several days like this, we’ve seen prison escapees in the like or other people wanted for crimes and it takes time,” Todd McGhee, a retired Massachusetts State Police Trooper, said.
McGhee said right now officials are doing everything they can to protect the integrity of the investigation.
On Friday, Worcester’s Police Chief Paul Saucier announced a warrant had been issued for Karen’s arrest. She will be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
“Based on what they have for evidence, that charge most likely came from information resulting from the medical examiner,” McGhee said.
“When we see divers, and we see drones and we see K9s, that’s a very public part of the investigation but also keep in mind that there’s a very quiet, discrete investigation around digital records,” McGhee said.
McGhee weighed in on what he believes they’re searching the Coes Pond area for.
“It doesn’t appear that the search around the pond is necessarily for a body, I believe it’s more towards a weapon maybe being tossed in a body of water or discarded somewhere in that area,” McGhee said. “That was indicative of the search being called off, because if they believed she was still out there, the search would’ve continued. Then they resumed again on Friday morning, indicating that they could pick up where they left off the day before.”
Divers briefly stopped their search as thunder and lightning moved through the Worcester area just before noon Sunday, Worcester police said.
Solomon was last seen walking near Westside Animal Clinic in the area of Coes Pond early Tuesday morning.
The city has since closed Stearns Tavern and Coes Pond parks until further notice.
Authorities say Solomon is considered to be armed and dangerous.
