Motorcyclist flown to Boston hospital after Plympton crash

PLYMPTON, Mass. — A motorcyclist was flown to a Boston hospital after a crash on Ring Road in Plympton on Sunday, fire officials said.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, suffered head trauma, the Plympton Fire Department tweeted. His condition was not known Sunday night.

The crash occurred at around 4:50 p.m., the fire department tweeted.

A Medflight helicopter landed in the field behind the fire station, and flew the victim to Boston Medical Center with traumatic injuries, fire officials said.

Emergency crews responded to 2 Ring Road after receiving reports that a motorcycle struck a utility pole.

Sunday’s motorcycle crash occurred two days after a Halifax father and daughter were killed in a motorcycle crash in Hanson on Friday.

Hanson police said 58-year-old James Ripley and his 19-year-old daughter Jenna Ripley were riding a motorcycle down Route 58 near Hill Road Friday when they went off the road and struck a pole.
