Manhole fire creates traffic issue outside Boston Public Library

Firefighters responded to a manhole fire just outside of the Boston Public Library, the Boston Fire Department said.

The department said they got a call around 5:39 p.m. for reports of a manhole cover that had blown off in the area of Dartmouth Street at Boylston Street.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and confirmed that it was a manhole fire, and that a cover had blown off.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but a serious traffic issue arose due to the time and location of the fire.
