State Police identify body found in Charles River

Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a dead man was pulled from the Charles River in Newton on Saturday night.

The body has been identified as 43-year-old Mynor Vasquez-Vega, who was a member of the local homeless community, according to authorities.

He was found in Forte Park around 8 p.m. Saturday by two passersby who were walking along the Charles River, police said.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.

No further information was released.
