DA: Man dies after suffering from medical emergency on boat in Haverhill

HAVERHILL, Mass — A man is dead after he suffered an apparent medical emergency on a boat in Haverhill.

According to the Essex County District Attorney, a man was on a boat at Marianna’s Marina located at 72 Coffin Avenue in Haverhill when he suffered an apparent medical emergency and fell into the Merrimack River Saturday night.

Haverhill Police arrived on the scene at 11:47 p.m. and were able to get the man onto a dock.

He was transported to Merrimack Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family and friends.

Foul play is not suspected but the incident is being investigated by the Essex County State Police Detective Unit and Haverhill Police Department.
