LAKEVILLE, Mass. — A car veered off of a Massachusetts highway, crashed in the woods, and burst into flames early Monday morning.
Firefighters responding to a report of fire along the northbound side of Route 140 near Exit 12 in Lakeville around 3 a.m. found a wrecked vehicle fully engulfed in flames, according to the Lakeville Fire Department.
Photos from the scene showed a mangled piece of guardrail resting next to the burning vehicle. Firefighters said the flames quickly spread to nearby vegetation due to dry weather conditions.

Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly.
There were no reported injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
