DEDHAM, Mass. — A Dracut family is looking to pass on random acts of kindness in honor of their 6-year-old son, Joseph, who died from a heart condition.
The Middlemiss family donated a Buddy Bench to the Riverdale School in Dedham Wednesday.
The family started an organization promoting acts of kindness, and says the Buddy Bench represents their son and the impact he made on those around him.
"It's a symbol of kindness and peace and a visual reminder for children on playgrounds everywhere to reach out to others, to include others to join and play and work in friendship,” Kate Middlemiss said.
Middlemiss’ 3-year-old son also suffers from the same heart condition, so the family also makes it their goal to help people dealing with similar heart problems.
