NASHUA, N.H. — Police are searching for a suspect who they believe tied up a 90-year-old man during a home invasion in Nashua.
The victim’s name and address aren't being released, but police say the incident took place in the French Hill neighborhood on the north side of the city.
The victim was home alone and in bed sleeping around 6 a.m. when a robber entered his room and tied him up, police said.
“The male subject started making demands for various things ultimately he complied with his demands and was bound within his home,” Nashua Police Det. Lt. Craig Allard said.
The robber asked the 90-year-old man for a number of items, including his car – a 2002 Dodge Intrepid.
Police believe the suspect used that car as a getaway vehicle. It was found a short time later in a church parking lot not far from where the home invasion occurred.
“It's possible it's random. It's possible he's a friend of a friend. We are actually still working on that aspect to try to narrow things down here,” Lt. Allard said.
The victim was not seriously injured and is now in the care of family members.
Police have released pictures of a man they’re calling a person of interest in the case. Anyone who recognizes him or has information related to the crime is asked to call the Nashua Police Department at 603-594-3500.
Ted Daniel is speaking with police as they continue their search. He'll have the latest details on Boston 25 News at 10.
