BOSTON — A heat emergency has been declared in Boston with dangerously hot weather expected to continue through Wednesday night. Temperatures are feeling like triple digits in some places during the second heat wave of the season.
Boston Mayor Kim Janey is reminding everyone to stay hydrated and to drink plenty of fluids. Cooling centers will be open across the City of Boston through Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“We still have a lot of reservations to sit outside. We’ve just been keeping the drinks coming and keeping people cool as long as we can,” said Malone Dodson, who works as a server at The Beehive.
Despite the uncomfortable humidity levels, outdoor patios at restaurants were still buzzing with customers on Monday night.
2021 is currently in second place for the warmest month of June on record for Boston. The city has surpassed 90-degrees seven times so far this month. The only previous year with more 90-degree days is 1976, which saw 11 in total.
