KINGSTON, Mass. — Kingston Police are searching for the person who robbed a liquor store at gunpoint Monday night.

Surveillance video captured the suspect walking into Myette's Country Liquors on Main Street around 10:30 p.m. The suspect is waving a gun as he places a black plastic bag on the counter and tells the clerk, "Money in the bag, buddy. Money in the bag."

The clerk said the robber was wearing a Halloween-style mask, a hoodie and gloves that were either clear or skin-colored.

The video shows the clerk open the register and place cash into the robber's bag.

Police described the suspect as a white man, approximately 5'7" to 5'8" tall and weighing about 200 lbs.

The clerk said the robber made him get on the floor before leaving the store, but the clerk wasn't hurt.

Kingston Police Sergeant Detective Michael Skowyra says robberies in the town of nearly 14,000 are extremely rare.

"We don't want to see this type of crime in the neighborhood," said Sgt. Skowyra. "We are doing what we can. As many resources as we can, try to solve it and nip it in the bud so it doesn't happen again."

Boston 25 News did some research and found that, in the last 4 years, the town has only seen a handful of robberies, including one at this liquor store back in 2015.

Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call Sergeant Skowyra at 781-585-0523.
