LOWELL, Mass. — Two pedestrians have been hospitalized after being hit by a car in Lowell on Monday evening.
Police responded to a call at around 5:00 p.m. for a pedestrian crash at Gorham and Lundberg streets.
At the scene, officers found two pedestrians were hit when trying to cross the road. The driver had been traveling outbound on Gorham Street when the crash happened.
Preliminary investigation showed heavy rain contributed to poor visibility, which made it hard for the driver to see the pedestrians.
The victims, identified only as a 38-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries, but the extent of those injuries is still unknown.
Lowell Police are investigating this incident.
