Season's latest snowmobile crash injures Tewksbury man

GORHAM, N.H. — Another person from Massachusetts was injured in a snowmobile accident this winter, with the most recent crash on Saturday afternoon in Gorham, N.H.

A Tewksbury man was thrown from his snowmobile after colliding with a car, according to a release from New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Matthew Pelrine, 27, sustained non-life threatening after crashing into a car that was pulling into a driveway. Officials noted in the release that the victim did not stop at the driveway crossing; Pelrine was cited for a failure to stop.

Both the snowmobile and the vehicle involved in the crash were damaged as a result of the collision, which occurred at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Conservation Officers from the state’s Fish and Game Department responded to the crash, determining that the collision was caused by inattention and a failure to stop at the crossing. Gorham Police and Fire also were on scene.

Pelrine was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
