HOPKINTON, Mass. — A man was hit by two vehicles after police say he led them on a high-speed chase on Interstate 495 in Hopkinton.
Massachusetts State Police said they got a call about an erratic driver around 6 p.m. Tuesday. The caller said an SUV was traveling at around 100 mph on the southbound side of I-495.
A trooper attempted to stop the driver of the SUV, a Chevrolet Tahoe, and pursued the vehicle when the driver wouldn’t stop, according to police. The driver then crashed into the median and fled the vehicle on foot, police said.
The suspect tried to run across the northbound lanes of I-495, near exit 21, when he was struck by two vehicles, according to state police.
State police said the 27-year-old suspect from Billerica was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. His condition is unknown.
Police have not released his name.
