DA identifies missing man whose body was pulled from Lake Quinsigamond

SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Authorities have identified a missing man whose body was pulled from Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury on Monday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Sunset Beach just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday after a 911 caller reported that a man was possibly drowning in the lake, prompting a large search, according to the Shrewsbury Police Department.

When the search resumed Monday morning, crews discovered the man’s body using sonar technology.

In an update on Tuesday, the Worcester District Attorney’s Office identified the apparent drowning victim as 31-year-old Yunio Ciromine Antonio Chaparro, of Worcester.

There were no additional details immediately available.

The investigation remains ongoing.
