Brewster Ambulance paramedics help deliver child in Braintree home

Brewster Ambulance Service Paramedics had some extra work to do Saturday when a mother needed to have her new baby girl before she could make it to the hospital.

The first-time parents had quite the surprise when their new baby girl Amara decided it was time to make her debut in the family's living room Saturday.

Two paramedics ended up assisting Braintree Fire in delivering the child on the family's living room floor.

The child's mother Yunyi told the paramedics at South Shore Hospital that she had recently finished her EMT training at Boston University, and said she wanted to become a part of the Brewster Ambulance team in the future.

She did say, however, that the birth wasn't how she expected to meet any future co-workers.

One of the paramedics helped the first-time father cut the umbilical cord, helping to finish off the home delivery.
