HOT AND HUMID
It’s a mild and muggy start across the region today, and that’s just the beginning of a steamy stretch of weather. Afternoon highs will soar into the mid 90s under a mix of sun and clouds. With the humidity factored in, it will feel closer to 100° for many. A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the area through Monday at 8 PM, except for the Cape, Islands, and South Coast, where slightly cooler breezes will offer some relief.
Looking ahead to Monday, temperatures ease just a bit into the low 90s, but the humidity climbs even higher. That added moisture will fuel the chance for isolated downpours and storms, especially across inland locations. Still, we’ll manage to squeeze in some dry breaks between any passing storms.
TUESDAY STORMS
Tuesday brings more downpours thanks to moisture from Tropical Storm Chantal which will stream into southern New England. Expect a very warm and soupy day with scattered downpours and thunderstorms possible at times. While it won’t be a washout, it’s a day to stay weather-aware with heavy rain possible in some spots.
REST OF THE WEEK
By Wednesday, temperatures dial back a bit into the low 80s, but don’t expect much relief from the humidity. A few more showers and storms may pop up during the afternoon.
Relief is in sight by late week, as highs settle back into the 70s and we begin to dry out.
