LOWELL, Mass. — A delivery driver is recovering after she was punched in the face by two robbers.
Lowell police say a female delivery driver for a local Chinese restaurant was delivering an order to a home on Mansur Street around 5 p.m., but when she got there, there were two men standing outside.
Police say she approached them and they demanded her money. When she said no, they punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground, and took her cash and car and fled.
The car was found one street over on Wyman Street, but the men had run away and remain at large. Police have little information to go on, only that the suspects are men in their late teens or early 20s.
Other restaurant employees said they heard about the attack and are watching their backs.
“That lady is so brave, if it was me, I would give everything,” Wei Jiang said. “My friend thought it was me. She worried about me.”
The woman is being treated at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus for head and face injuries.
