WORST OF IT WEDNESDAY
The day will initially start dry with steady rain arriving from southwest to northeast mid to late morning. Plan on a washout with period of torrential rain at times today with localized flooding. West of I-495 we’re expecting a widespread 2-4″ with up to 7″ in spots - elevations in central and western MA most at risk for the high end. A Flood Watch will be in effect until tonight there.
Eastern MA will see a range from 1-3″ and locally higher amounts. Be ready for locally flooded roads and slowdowns midday, afternoon, and evening with the heaviest rain. Temperatures will be near steady today in the 60s to low 70s.
LINGERING SHOWERS
As of now, we don’t have a Weather Alert or Flood Watch Thursday. We’re still expecting scattered showers at times with a few downpours. Average rainfall looks like 0.25-0.5″ with higher totals where isolated downpours develop. A northeast breeze will keep things cool too as highs struggle to go beyond 70 degrees.
Friday won’t be a washout, but it’s reasonable to expect some spotty showers with rainfall at or under 0.1″. Hopefully we’ll see some breaks in the clouds by the end of the day!
