MERRIMACK, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – In 2011, a freak snowstorm ruined Halloween for trick-or-treaters in the Northeast, and now in 2012, Hurricane Sandy is putting a damper on Halloween once again.
The Merrimack Police Department announced on Tuesday that trick-or-treating has been cancelled in the town on Oct. 31 due to significant power outages.
On the bright side, police have rescheduled trick-or-treating to Nov. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Police were concerned that without power many neighborhoods would be unsafe for children to navigate.
