BOSTON — Tuukka Rask has been battling his body early on in this 2016-17 campaign and missed practice again Friday morning for a 'maintenance day.'
Despite turning out back to back wins for the black and gold, Rask has been seen wincing and moving slowly after making tough saves. When asked about the situation Thursday night following the teams hone opener against New Jersey, Rask replied, “There’s always a little somethin’-somethin’.”
It has been clear that he is not 100% but yet still continues to go out an perform night in and night out. The Bruins tweeted that Rask is taking a “maintenance day” as he recovers from soreness that he’s felt since last Thursday’s season opener against Columbus. Claude Julien corroborated the status after practice, saying “The general soreness Rask had last week is still there.”
