BOSTON — The Red Sox paid tribute to American servicemen and servicewomen on Memorial Day by draping a massive American flag over the Green Monster in left field of Fenway Park. The gesture was meant to honor the men and women who have lost their lives in combat.
While the flag was being dropped over the 37-foot wall, Taps was played on the bugle by retired Marine Corps and National Guard veteran Robert Bean, a native of Medford, Mass.
