FOXBORO — The Patriots released plans on Tuesday for a season-long tribute to the Super Bowl XXXVI Champions.
The 2001 Patriots beat the St. Louis Rams in New Orleans on Adam Vinatieri's last-second kick as time wound down in the Superdome.
Vinatieri and Tom Brady, who won the MVP of that game and two additional Super Bowls, are the only two players still active in the NFL, but many of their teammates from 2001 will be in Foxboro for a special reunion that has been planned.
When the Patriots host the Rams on December 4, the 2001 team will be honored with a special ceremony. In addition to that, the Pats will release special video vignettes throughout the season, produce "Where Are They Now" segments and release posters with images from 2001 in Patriots Football Weekly.
Also, artifacts and images from the 2001 season will be featured in The Hall at Patriot Place.
The December 4 game against Los Angeles can be seen live on FOX25.
