Dion Lewis gets 2-year contract extension

Foxboro, Mass -- Talk about a reverse of fortunes, Patriots running back Dion Lewis goes from being a player who was out of the NFL last season to receiving a 2-year contract extension from the Super Bowl Champions 3-games in.

ESPN first reported the news and Lewis confirmed today that he now has a bit more security. I'd say so, Lewis gets an extension that'll last through 2017.  It's potentially worth $5 million.  It's a $2.6 million dollar base with nearly $2 million more in incentives. Plus a $600,000 signing bonus.

"I don't got time to think about that right now. I got a game in three days." Lewis said when I asked if he allowed himself an opportunity to celebrate his accomplishment.  When asked if he ate any cake or anything. "I don't eat sweets," Lewis replied with a smile.
