Red Sox come out on top against Astros in Game 3 of ALCS

The Red Sox wanted to ride a wave of momentum after tying the American League Championship Series against the Astros at 1-1, looking to take a 2-1 lead in Houston.

Chris Sale will be available for the game, if needed, after being hospitalized on Sunday for a reported stomach illness. He was released from the hospital on Monday, and joined the team ahead of Game 3.

8:53 p.m.: The Red Sox take the mound in the bottom of the ninth with a six-run lead in an 8-2 game against the Astros.

8:25 p.m.: Jackie Bradley Jr. smashes a grand slam to make it 8-2 Red Sox in the eighth inning.

8:23 p.m.: Back-to-back batters hit by Roberto Osuna brings in Steve Pearce to make it 4-2 Red Sox.

5:15 p.m.: J.D. Martinez drives in Mookie Betts after Betts and Andrew Benintendi get on base to start the game in the first inning. The Red Sox take an early 1-0 lead.
