FOXBORO, Mass — A source has confirmed to FOX25's Butch Stearns that Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hip injury Sunday night against Houston.
ESPN and WEEI first reported Tuesday afternoon that Blount has played his final game of the 2015 season. He leads the Patriots in rushing with 703 yards. He is the second Patriots running back lost to injury this season.
Dion Lewis was injured in the Pats win over the Redskins and placed on season-ending injured reserve.
The Patriots have not confirmed the report on Blount and already released Tuesday's injury update. Blount was not included.
The team did sign Montee Ball to the practice squad, in a move that would indicate Blount may be done for the year.
Blount was seen on crutches at the Patriots facility today.
