"A Father's Fight," a feature film about Mark Chauppetta and his family, premiered Saturday night at a special screening at War Memorial Hall in downtown Brockton.
Chauppetta, a Brockton detective, has been working on the project for about 10 years, with the idea finally coming to fruition Saturday night.
The film chronicles his life as he considers getting back into mixed marital arts at the age of 50, with hopes of raising awareness for his twin sons, Andrew and Troy, who suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Several years ago, Chaupetta and his sons established a non-profit organization called Wheelchair Strong, and Chaupetta has done many different fundraisers like Fighting MMA to raise awareness and funds.
"This film is the story of my life fighting for my sons and for others with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy," Chaupetta said.
