Crisis averted with Hanley Ramirez's injured wrist

SEATTLE — Red Sox first baseman Hanley Ramirez jammed his wrist while walking down the steps toward the clubhouse after last night's loss to the Mariners.

Ramirez underwent x-rays after the game and received good news today.

"After all the images were performed X-ray, MRI, structurally, he is sound," Red Sox manager John Farrell said on Wednesday. "He's got some soreness in there. He's day-to-day. Would expect it to be a couple of days at least."

After playing in only 105 games last season battling a shoulder injury, Ramirez has appeared in 98 of the Red Sox 105 games this season.
