Bruins' Krug out for at least three weeks with ankle injury

BOSTON — Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has injured his ankle and is expected to miss up to at least three weeks, the team announced on Monday.

Krug injured his left ankle during the first period of the Bruins preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers on September 29.

"It’s frustrating, it’s unfortunate, very unlucky, and kind of a freak thing," said Krug. "But it’s part of it and you just gotta work through it and have the right attitude and continue to work."

General Manager Don Sweeney said Krug would be in a boot for three weeks and then be re-evaluated.

He added that this injury is not related to his previous fracture.
