WINSTON-SALEM — Anthony Brown threw five touchdown passes and AJ Dillon rushed for 185 yards as Boston College beat Wake Forest 41-34 Thursday night.

With the win, BC improved to 3-0 on the season.

Dillon opened the scoring with a 45-yard burst on the Eagles first drive, setting the tone for a superlative offensive showcase for the Eagles.  Brown completed 10 of his first 13 passes, finishing the night with 304 yards passing.

Wake Forest took advantage of two BC miscues on special teams, capitalizing on a muffed punt by Michael Walker in the first quarter, which ultimately resulted in a touchdown for the Demon Deacons.

Later in the second quarter, Wake Forest blocked a punt, with Malik Grate recovering the loose ball in the end zone to even the score at 14.

The Demon Deacons took a seven-point lead on a pass from Sam Hartman to Sage Surratt, but the Eagles responded with Brown’s second touchdown pass of the night.

Wake Forest broke the 21-21 tie early in the second quarter on a 27-yard field goal from Nick Sciba, but the Eagles answered with an eight-play, 78 yard drive, capped off by Brown’s 29-yard TD pass to Tommy Sweeney to make it 28-24.

Brown threw two more touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, one to Jeff Smith for 71 yards and another to Ben Glines for 40 yards.

Wake Forest scored with 1:33 to play to draw within one score, but BC recovered an onside kick and was able to run out the clock to secure the win.

The Eagles head to West Lafayette next Saturday to face Purdue.
