Worcester Fire Chief Geoffrey Gardell to Retire in January

Worcester Fire Chief Geoffrey Gardell has had a tremendous career in the fire service.  He remembers the opening the letter with his mother on Christmas Eve that admitted him to drill school in January 1984. Now, in 2017, he prepares to retire after 33 years. Chief Gardell describes the feeling as "bittersweet."  He has worked alongside some amazing firefighters, earned distinguished accolades, battled through some tough losses, and made lifelong friends.

Congratulations, Chief Gardell. Job well done!
