Live Free: Summer Fun in New Hampshire
16TH Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition
Just yesterday the 16th Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition kicked off at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. Ten master sand sculptors from all over the world have come to compete for the judges' votes. Voting takes place this Saturday and closes with an awards ceremony and fireworks.
Greg Grady, event organizer and founder, calls the competition “spart,” part art and part sport. The competitors are shoveling and crafting ten tons of sand into masterpieces. Grady explains there is no theme and encourages the sand sculptors to be as creative as possible. With ten incredibly unique masterpieces, you won’t want to miss this, and it’s completely free! Sand sculptors will be there through Saturday, but the sculptures will stand illuminated through July 6.
