When he was 19 years old Dan Cummings jumped off a boat, broke his neck and became a quadrapeligic and was told he'd never walk again.

When Dan Cumming was 19 years old he jumped off a boat with his friends and broke his neck; he was paralyzed. Doctors told Dan he would never walk again, but that wasn't what Dan and his family wanted to believe. 7 years later, after 4 hard years at an intense exercise-based therapy program in California, Dan walked on his own.

A year later, Dan and his brother Jimmy wanted to bring a similar program back home to Boston.  The pair raised $350,000 to start their non-profit called Journey Forward. Journey Forward is dedicated to bettering the lives of those who have suffered Spinal Cord Injury through an intense exercise program.

Nine years ago, the brothers hosted their first fundraiser and asked Christopher Knight, popularly known for his role as Peter on The Brady Bunch, to emcee the event. Thursday, May 4th they continue the tradition with a Vegas Casino Night at Kings in Dedham.
