Animal 'Avengers' assemble: Shelter names pups after Marvel super heroes

An animal shelter in Tennessee is hoping “The Avengers” will help get some puppies new homes.

Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans (or Hemsworth for that matter) aren't adopting them, but the dogs have been given some superhero names, after the "Avengers," WJHL reported.

And the rest of the team, including Thanos:

Nine puppies, all miniature pinscher/boxer mixes, were in the care of Friends Animal Shelter of Cocke County in Newport, Tennessee. They're estimated at about 6 weeks old, WJHL reported.

The good news is, even though last week they weren't ready to leave the shelter, according to WJHL, a couple have already found homes, shelter officials said.
