YARMOUTH, Mass. — Yarmouth K9 Nero is making progress in his recovery after he was shot.
Nero worked with Sgt. Sean Gannon who was shot and killed while serving a warrant in Barnstable in April. Nero was also shot that day.
On Friday, police officers showed how Nero is improving following surgery and say he is beginning to look like himself again.
A law enforcement source told Boston 25 News a bullet went through Nero's check and into his shoulder. He underwent emergency surgery and was recovering with Peter McClelland, a retired Yarmouth Police K9 handler.
