WORCESTER, Mass. — A suspicious death investigation is underway after a body was found inside a van in Worcester.
Sky25 flew over the active scene Wednesday afternoon where police say a body was found in a van in a tow lot on Park Avenue. Worcester Police say the van was towed to Early's from a Park Avenue shopping plaza less than a half mile away.
We have also learned the body was found stuffed inside a container in the van and officials say it appears it had been there for a while.
Boston 25 News reporter Ted Daniel has learned someone at the plaza reported that the vehicle had been abandoned there and they wanted it removed.
According to police radio calls, a tow operator noticed a foul odor coming from the van and a lot of flies.
The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
