According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, police are conducting an internal review of the video created by Officer John M. McGuiness.
The video shows McGuiness, a 20-year-veteran, explaining to producers why he'd be a good fit for a now-defunct reality show as he strips down to his underpants.
"The reason I think I should be on the show is I'm a great looking guy, I've got a killer a body and I'm an out of the closet cop," said McGuiness.
Worcester's Police Chief, Gary Gemme, told the Telegram and Gazette that while the investigation is only just underway, it doesn't appear there are any violations that would lead to McGuiness' suspension or termination. Chief Gemme said it does not appear McGuiness meant any disrespect to the department.
Gemme said they would review the fact that the Worcester Police patch was prominently displayed in the video.
"I think the only issue I have is in regard to prominently displaying the police patch, because using that patch in that context may not be appropriate," Gemme told the Telegram and Gazette.
Gemme added that McGuiness has been an excellent officer in his time with the department.
