CENTERVILLE, Mass. — A Centerville woman was released on $2,500 cash bail after she was accused in a fatal hit-and-run on the Cape.
The woman, 33-year-old Sarah Hunt of Centerville, reportedly turned herself in on Saturday, January 6, when she walked into the Barnstable Police Station and confessed she was the suspect driver in the fatal hit-and-run of 62-year-old John Pina.
Hunt had a conversation with Barnstable Detectives and admitted to being the driver during the accident and consequently fleeing the scene.

Prosecutors say after the accident, Hunt threw away a can of hard cider, moved the rest of the 12-pack to her trunk, then returned to the scene of the crash before eventually taking off.
Detectives then say they found the damaged 2000 Toyota Camry Hunt was driving at the time of the accident in the garage at Hunt's home.
She was subsequently arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Homicide by Negligent Operation, Leaving the Scene of an Accident after Death and Operating a Motor Vehicle with an open container.
Hunt posted bail and will have her license suspended until a trial.
