(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A New Hampshire woman is fighting for her life after falling on a cruise ship.
Pembroke resident Christina Ricci was on the Carnival Victory with her boyfriend when she fell. The pair left Thursday and weren't on the ship for more than 24 hours before she fell around midnight.
"I don't even truly understand or believe what has happened," her aunt said.
She went on to say the 24-year-old "fell hard" and hit the back of her head. She was taken off the ship and to the hospital about six to eight hours after the fall and doctors say she had several strokes.
Her friend says she may not walk or talk again and could be paralyzed on right side.
The family has started a GoFundMe page to help them offset the expenses of staying in Florida to care for her.
The hospital is working with Carnival to figure out what happened to Ricci in order to provide her with the best care. We reached out to Carnival, but did not hear back.
Ricci remains in the hospital, in critical condition.
